Mission Statement

Guided by the Holy Spirit, we believe it is our responsibility to take seriously our baptismal vows to nurture, educate, and guide the church community in the teaching, example, and living word of Christ.

St. Andrew strives to meet the Christian Education needs of all it\'s congregants. With adult classes, children\'s classes, youth group, nursery, groups for women, men, and people who like to read, we are working toward the goal of a church of people whose spiritual growth is a life-long journey.

Christian Education

Christian Education meets after worship service on Sundays from 11:00-12:00. Christian Education is provided for children from 2-18, and for adults. Nursery care is available for children under 2.

Nursery Care

St. Andrew provides quality child care during Sunday morning worship and during most other events, such as choir practice, retreats, and special workshops.

Nursery is provided for infants to 7 years of age. Care is given by a caring adult staff. Emphasis is placed on the young child\'s need for love, and acceptance. Children in the nursery are encouraged to spend the first part of church with their parents. Worship bags are provided to assist children with participation in worship. Please see the childcare guidelines for more information.

Peace Camp

Every summer St. Andrew has a dynamic, mission focused, vacation bible school. The program focuses on understanding people from other countries and cultures in an effort toward Peacemaking. In addition to learning about the culture through art, dance, music and language, children ages 4-5th grade also raise money for that region. In the past, peace camp has focused on Africa, and the Navajo people.

This year, Peace camp will center around Immigration.

Child Care Guidelines

For Infants Through Seven Years of Age

Our guidelines are developed based on the belief that children are valuable assets, that we have a responsibility as a church to nurture children in the Christian faith, and that children have much to offer the church\'s ministry. The guidelines also stem from a belief that all church members have a right to attend worship, and the provision of safe, quality child care is important to meet the needs of those who attend the worship service of our church. Our guidelines are developed with the assumption that quality child care is more than "baby sitting" and should provide for the active nurturing of children as persons and as members of the faith.

Responsibilities of Parents Utilizing Child Care:
Child care is a partnership relationship between parent or other custodial adult and the child care staff. Sign children IN and OUT.  Child care staff can only be responsible for children who are signed in.  Once signed in, the children will not be allowed to leave the child care area without a parent or custodial adult.   Specify special needs of child (medication, illness, etc.) Respect care giver\'s schedule; pick children up promptly at end of worship or other event.  Offer information about children\'s preferences and style of responding to situations.

Expectations for Children in Child Care:
Follow directions of child care staff.  Respect one another in word and action at all times.  Do not endanger self or others in word or action.  It is the intent of the Child Care staff at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church to work together and be supportive of both parents and children as we come together to worship and to grow in our Christian faith.  Special needs should be addressed to the elder responsible for Christian Education.
